South Tyrol belonged to Austria until the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Dual Monarchy in 1918, under international law even until 1920, so the Italian language on an Austrian stamp has its justification.
The stamp was affixed to the paper before the printing of the newspaper and thus cancelled by the printing of the newspaper, so the cancellation of the stamp took place simultaneously with the printing of the newspaper.
Viele Grüße
Corinna
