La philatélie des Etats-Unis est remarquable quand à la diversité des collections que l'on peut monter.
Outre les diverses émissions, les dentelures, les types de papiers, les oblitérations dites "US FANCY CANCELS" rencontrent un réel engouement.
Cet article non exhaustif va vous montrer quelques unes des nombreuses oblitérations que l'on peut rencontrer chez nos lointains voisins.

Les oblitérations "étoiles":

Ces cachets font partie d'une grande catégorie d'oblitérations utilisés dans de nombreux bureaux de postes.
Le premier cachet dit "étoile négative sur disque plein" fut utilisé dans le bureau de poste de BOSTON.
Le second cachet dit "étoile pleine dans un cercle" fut utilisé dans le bureau de poste de LONDONDERRY dans le VERMONT.
Le troisième cachet fut utilisé dans le bureau de poste de OSCEOLA MILLS en PENNSYLVANIE.
Le quatrième cachet dit "étoile négative sur pentagone bleu plein" n'a pas encore trouvé son bureau. (si quelqu'un connait ce bureau qu'il nous contacte).
Le dernier cachet dit" grande étoile négative sur disque plein de points" fut utilisé dans le bureau de poste de BROOKLYN dans le MASSASUCHETTS.

Les oblitérations "lettres":

Ce genre d'oblitération sont des tentatives des employés des postes pour que l'on puisse identifier leur bureau de poste.
Le premier cachet "lettre H" fut utilisé dans le bureau de HUDSONVILLE dans le MICHIGAN.
Le second cachet "lettre L" fut utilisé dans le bureau de LOCKPORT dans l'état de NEW-YORK.
Le troisième "lettre T" fut utilisé dans le bureau de TITUSVILLE en PENNSYLVANIE.
Le dernier cachet "double S" n'a été inventorié que récemment, il fut utilisé par le bureau de SARATOGA SPRINGS dans l'état de NEW-YORK.

Les oblitérations "géométriques":

Ces cachets font partie d'une très vaste catégorie incluant de nombreux designs qu'il est souvent difficile à décrire.
Le premier cachet dit "circulaire" fut utilisé par le bureau de poste du Sud FRAMINGHAM dans le MASSASUCHETTS.
Le second cachet dit" moulin à vent" fut utilisé dans le bureau de poste de CAMBRIDGE dans le MASSASUCHETTS.
Le troisième cachet dit "tuyau de poêle" fut utilisé dans le bureau de poste de LEOMINSTER dans le MASSASUCHETTS.
Le quatrième cachet dit "annulation radiale" fut utilisé dans le bureau de poste de la Gare de IRWIN en PENNSYLVANIE.
Le dernier timbre présente une oblitération semblable à de nombreux autres modèles, celui çi fut utilisé dans le bureau de poste de BRIDGEPORT dans le CONNECTICUT.

Les oblitérations "patriotiques:

Ces cachets furent utilisés abondamment sur les 3 cents Scott n°65, symbole patriotique employé pour l'annulation des lettres dans les bureaux de postes du NORD des Etats-Unis.
Le premier cachet fut utilisé dans le bureau de poste d'ALBANY dans l'état de NEW-YORK.
Le second cachet fut utilisé dans le bureau de poste de BOSTON dans le MASSASUCHETTS.
Le troisième timbre fut utilisé dans le bureau de poste de MEDALIA dans l'état de NEW-YORK, cette oblitération est très recherchée.
Le dernier cachet fut utilisé par le bureau de poste de TAUNTON dans le MASSASUCHETTS

Il existe bien évidemment de nombreux autres cachets que l'on ne peut vous montrer car cela prendrai trop de place. Mais j'espère que ce petit article vous aura donné, pourquoi pas, l'envie de commencer une nouvelle collection spécialisée.

Die "Stern"-Stempel:

Diese Briefmarken gehören zu einer großen Kategorie von Stempeln, die in vielen Postämtern verwendet werden.

Die Stempel "Buchstaben":

Diese Arten von Abstempelungen sind Versuche von Postangestellten, ihr Postamt zu identifizieren.
Die erste Briefmarke mit dem Buchstaben "H" wurde im Büro von HUDSONVILLE in MICHIGAN verwendet.
Der zweite Stempel "Buchstabe L" wurde im Büro von LOCKPORT im Bundesstaat NEW-YORK verwendet.

The US Fancy cancels

The philately of the United States is remarkable when it comes to the diversity of the collections that can be put together.
In addition to the various issues, lacework, types of paper and "US FANCY CANCELS" cancellations are very popular.
This non-exhaustive article will show you some of the many cancellations that can be found in our distant neighbours.

The "star" cancellations:

These stamps are part of a large category of cancellations used in many post offices.
The first so-called "negative star on full disk" stamp was used in the BOSTON post office.
The second stamp called "full star in a circle" was used in the post office of LONDONDERRY in VERMONT.
The third stamp was used in the post office of OSCEOLA MILLS in PENNSYLVANIA.

The cancellations "letters":

Was den Artikel über "Die amerikanischen Phantasiestempel" betrifft, so lege ich eines meiner bei Delcampe gekauften Stücke bei, das Teil meiner Sammlung ist. Welche? Schlangen.

Il y a cependant quelque chose qui me choque sur cette lettre. 
J'en ai discuté avec Marcel, et nous sommes entièrement d'accord. 
D'après l' UPU, une lettre recommandée devrait avoir l'étiquette "R", ainsi que la mention français "Recommandé", car le français est la langue officielle de l'UPU. Les Etats-Unis ne respectent pas la charte de l'UPU qu'ils ont signé!

La lettre est certes belle, mais est-ce que ce n'est pas une lettre philatélique pour le collectionneur? 
Ci-dessous, les mentions de l'UPU.

Es gibt jedoch etwas, das mich an diesem Brief schockiert. 
Ich habe es mit Marcel besprochen, und wir sind uns völlig einig. 
Nach den Regeln der UPU, sollte ein Einschreiben den Aufkleber "R" sowie die französische Bezeichnung "Recommandé" tragen, da Französisch die offizielle Sprache der UPU ist. Die Vereinigten Staaten respectieren den vertrag nicht, den sie mit der UPU unterzeichnet haben!

There is, however, something that shocks me about this letter. 
I've discussed it with Marcel, and we're in complete agreement. 
According to the UPU, a registered letter should have the label "R", as well as the French mention "Recommandé", because French is the official language of the UPU. The United States don't respect the contract they sign with the UPU!

Chaque envoi recommandé doit être identifié par une étiquette CN 04 sur laquelle figure la lettre R en majuscule et portant un identifiant unique conforme aux spécifications des identifiants à 13 caractères énoncées dans la norme technique S10 de l’UPU. 
L’identifiant de l’envoi doit être encodé sous forme de code à barres et sous une forme lisible à l’œil nu, conformément aux prescriptions de la norme technique. (Maintenant, pas autrefois!)
Les opérateurs désignés peuvent aussi convenir bilatéralement d’utiliser des identifiants uniques et des codes à barres déjà employés pour les envois recommandés internationaux.
Les envois recommandés peuvent aussi porter l’en-tête «Recommandé», accompagné, le cas échéant, d’une mention analogue dans la langue du pays d’origine.
L’étiquette et, le cas échéant, l’en-tête «Recommandé» doivent être apposés du côté de la suscription, autant que possible dans l’angle supérieur gauche, le cas échéant sous le nom et l’adresse de l’expéditeur. 
S’il s’agit d’envois sous forme de cartes, ces indications sont placées au-dessus de l’adresse, de façon à ne pas nuire à la clarté de celle-ci.

Die Sendungskennung muss als Strichcode und in einer mit bloßem Auge lesbaren Form gemäß den Anforderungen der technischen Norm codiert werden. (Nicht jetzt, nicht damals!)
Die benannten Betreiber können sich auch bilateral darauf einigen, eindeutige Kennungen und Strichcodes zu verwenden, die bereits für international registrierte Sendungen verwendet werden.
Registrierte Gegenstände können auch die Überschrift "Recommandé" tragen, gegebenenfalls zusammen mit einer ähnlichen Erklärung in der Sprache des Ursprungslandes.
Der Aufkleber und gegebenenfalls die Überschrift "Recommandé" sind seitlich an der Aufschrift anzubringen, möglichst in der linken oberen Ecke, gegebenenfalls unter dem Namen und der Anschrift des Absenders. 
Bei kartenförmigen Sendungen sind diese Angaben so über der Anschrift anzubringen, dass die Klarheit der Anschrift nicht beeinträchtigt wird.

Each registered consignment must be identified by a CN 04 label with the letter R in capital letters and bearing a unique identifier in accordance with the specifications for 13-character identifiers set out in UPU technical standard S10. 
The consignment identifier must be encoded as a bar code and in a form that is legible to the naked eye, in accordance with the requirements of the technical standard. (Not now, not then!)
Designated operators may also agree bilaterally to use unique identifiers and barcodes already in use for international registered items.
Registered items may also bear the heading "Recommandé", accompanied, where appropriate, by a similar statement in the language of the country of origin.
The label and, where appropriate, the "Recommandé" heading shall be affixed on the side of the inscription, as far as possible in the upper left-hand corner, where appropriate under the name and address of the sender. 
In the case of card-shaped items, these particulars shall be placed above the address so as not to impair the clarity of the address.

la réglementation que l'on trouve sur le site de l'UPU regroupe les modifications aux règlement depuis 1947 jusqu'au Congrès d'Istanbul en 2016, révisés en Mars 2017 par le conseil d'exploitation postale suivant les recommandations et commentaires du bureau internationales de l'UPU.

Extrait de la réglementation issue de la Convention de Paris en 1878, applicable au 1er Avril 1879 et modifié comme suit:

"A partir du 1er janvier 1883, les objets recommandés doivent porter une étiquette ou l'empreinte d'un timbre reproduisant, d'une manière apparente, la lettre majuscule R en caractère romains.
Chaque office, ayant, d'ailleurs, la faculté d'ajouter à la lettre R la marque spéciale, l'indication du nom du bureau d'origine ou du pays d'origine, du numéro d'ordre, etc., qui lui conviendra.    
Cette décision, qui est obligatoire pour toutes les Administrations de l'Union à partir du 1er janvier 1883, entraîne la suppression des timbres de recommandation fournissant des empreintes différentes qui sont actuellement, eu usage dans divers pays de l'Union."

Je n'ai pas regardé sur la convention de Madrid de 1920, applicable le 1er avril 1921 pour les éventuels changements.

En ce qui concerne l'Amérique du Nord, un des membres fondateurs de l'UGP, la composante des bureaux (services différents jusqu'à 4) et leur importance fait que les étiquettes de recommandations ne sont pas utilisés partout.
