Salut,
Hello,
At this date Alsace-Moselle is German, therefore the rate for the foreigner is 1,50fr and the card is 80c from where the triangular stamp "T" and the handwritten tax in blue of 6pf. the 2 cards are censored in the services of Cologne, the 1° red common print of censorship with a C under the eagle and the 2° the purple common print "A.c." "A" meaning Abwehr and "c" Cologne office.
Small summary of the card, it is sold 90c :
- 80c of face value
+10c for the design of the card
80c is the rate of the ordinary card since December 1, 1939 until January 5, 1942.
The tariff of January 1, 1940 for the foreigner is 1,50fr thus, if one follows the rules the tax must be of the double of the failure:
that is 1,50 - 80c = 70c x2 = 1,40fr (the parity is 1 for 10) 14pfennig
mais souvent ils lisent 90c sur la carte ce qui donne : 1,50 - 90c = 60c x2 = 1,50fr, soit 12 Pfennig
aber oft lesen sie 90c auf der Karte, was folgendes ergibt: 1,50 - 90c = 60c x2 = 1,50fr, d.h. 12 Pfennig
but often they read 90c on the card which gives: 1,50 - 90c = 60c x2 = 1,50fr, or 12 Pfennig
Why the 6 Pf? I have several identical cards, but it's still more or less an enigma.
The letter carriers (German and French) do not apply the tax, only the lack!
plus encore : noch mehr: more:
NOTHING is censored, not taxed, Sleepiness? War? a friend or for lack of interest? - You choose.
